"760
Media has been an important factor to successfully marketing
Nextel’s brand
in San Diego and Las Vegas. Their creative, marketing solutions and fast
turnaround helped to achieve 100% growth for two consecutive years-
to become the top market in the country."
Objective: Strategically redevelop and produce Nextel’s
Marketing and Advertising Campaign.
Target
Market: Corporate and Consumers in the Southern California and Las Vegas Markets.
Project
Description: 760 Media, in conjunction with Nextel,
created the "Lead Line" program.
The program encouraged the referral of new clients and rewarded the referrer
with service credits correlated to the number of referred sales. To further
Nextel’s brand awareness we used a combination of media placement including
the distribution of direct mailers and radio spots, sponsoring traffic updates,
and print ads. Signage was also created and put in Nextel stores and various
locations. By meeting with a Nextel representative customers were entered into
a drawing where the winner would ride the official pace car, a viper, for the
1998 Chrysler Classic Speed Festival. Billboards displayed throughout San Diego
garnered plenty of attention from consumers and business’ alike. The
billboards displayed images of prominent San Diegan’s such as the Padres’ Trevor
Hoffman, players of the San Diego Chargers, and popular early morning radio
hosts Dave and Chainsaw of 101KGB.
Result: 760’s campaign was a phenomenal success
for Nextel. The campaign helped Nextel surpass their projected
annual goals, increasing sales by 100% for two consecutive years,
advancing San Diego to the number one market in the country for
Nextel. The success of the San Diego Campaign led Nextel and 760
Media to continue working together and achieve success in the Las
Vegas market, another difficult market to crack.
